Academic Profile
Dr. Nguyen earned his medical degree from UT Southwestern Med School in 2001 and completed a Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation Residency at UT Houston in 2005. He specializes in Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation, Musculoskeletal and Pain Medicine, and Weight Management.
As a proud local alumni, Dr. Nguyen graduated valedictorian from Klein HS in 1994 and held a national merit scholarship with a perfect score on the SAT 2. He was honored as a Presidential Athlete and received the Presidential Scholar award. Dr. Nguyen obtained his undergraduate degree from Texas A&M in 1997, majoring in Genetics with a Minor in French. He served as an assistant professor at UT and HMH/Cornell faculty for a combined 17 years.
Personal Interests
Outside of medicine, Dr. Nguyen is an avid athlete with a passion for running sports, including distances ranging from track and field sprints to 100-mile ultra-marathons. He has also competed in triathlons, from sprint to ironman distances, and has experience in training and coaching for these events. Dr. Nguyen has a history in weightlifting, achieving the #1 ranker lifter in the <150 lb division at Texas A&M. Currently, he enjoys rock climbing, weight training, hiking, and fishing with his family.
In terms of diet, Dr. Nguyen has extensive experience with various forms of fasting/TRE, keto, and carnivore diets.
